How to Get Rid of Foggy Windows

Most home owners deal with the problem of foggy windows from time to time, especially  in the summer season.  Foggy windows are caused due to water that has become trapped between the panes of your window due to some kind of leak or weakness in the window. As the temperature increases this water turns to a vapor.
.
Foggy windows can drastically change the look and appeal of any room? No one likes the dingy look from foggy windows. It can make the home seem old an worn out but getting rid of the fog on the inside of the window is a challenge. You can scrub and clean all you like with no results. The fact is you are applying all that elbow grease to the exterior of the windows when the problem is in the interior because the fog has formed in between the panes of your multi layered window and it is simply impossible to clean it from the outside.

So, how does the fog got inside? The truth is your window is defective. It could be due to age or just poor quality materials or installation. During the winter or even just a little rain, the water gets trapped between the panes of your windows because of a failure in the integrity of the windows seals. That water eventually gets vaporized with the a little increase in heat, leaving you with a foggy window. It doesn’t matter if it is a replacement window  or a brand new window, if it is getting for, it’s because of a leak allowing the water vapor to form between the panes and of course, that will blur your view through the window.

How repair the foggy window?
We can suggest the following things to repair your foggy windows.

Defog your window
Call windows defoggers to drill a small hole in the window. They will fill the cleaning liquid inside the hole and allow it to dry. After drying they install air vents in the window which allows the fog to evaporate when it form again in future.

Window sash replacement
You can replace your old window sash if you have a removable one. Retaining the framework, you can replace the sash eliminating any weakness or leak. Before taking this route, make sure your window frames are in good working condition.

Replacement window
The ultimate solution and the only real fix, is a replacement window. With professional installation, you will have a brand new window.

When Is A Perfect Time To Replace Windows

The answer is – whenever you feel your windows are too old or worn out to do the job. There is not really a “perfect” time to replace any window because, different types of windows have different durability periods according to the way they were manufactured. The quality of raw materials used also determines durability.
Though it can be tricky figuring out when to replace your windows, there are few things to look for that can be a good indication when it’s the right time.
1.      Windows are getting condensation
This means, your window has lost its capacity to vent out the water vapor that gets trapped between the panes. When it is trapped, it blocks your vision from inside or outside your house.

2.      The glass is broken
This is an obvious situation that tells you loud and clear to replace the window as soon as possible.

3.      Windows do not stay open
This is a problem with the sash installed in your window. When the sash start malfunctioning, it cannot properly hold the window open.

4.      Unhappy with existing design and shape
If you are bored with the old design and color of your window, you can get custom designed windows from Thermal Windows – J & M Glass Company.  J&M can get you windows with the design and color of your choice, because almost every shape and color is possible. How to Identify the Highest Quality Thermalized Aluminum Windows

Are you interested in replacing old windows with brand new Thermalized Aluminum Windows but confused about how to identify good ones? In this article, we will explain how you can quickly learn how to choose the best quality at the best prices.
Insulated frame and sashes
For any thermalized window, frames and sashes need to be insulated. To ensure a proper installation, a material such as polyurethane is introduced between the aluminum extrusion and intrusions. This is done to reduce the amount of heat or cold transmitted through the window keeping the indoor temperature quiet and consistent at a lower cost.
Industry specifications
Your widows should be able to pass strict industry specifications such as,
Air percolation: air leakage of 25 MPH with wind blowing outside should not exceed 0.375 CFM for each foot of weather stripped window perimeter.
Condensation
These windows should be designed to stop moisture from escaping through the panes and make the surface of the window free of condensation. If your thermal aluminum windows starts showing signs of condensation, you can be pretty confident your walls and/or ceiling has moisture.
Recommended humidity level
The interior humidity level ranges from 15% at -20 degrees F to 40% at +30degrees. If your home was built as an energy saver, the recommended levels may change slightly depending on several factors such as insulation in the walls and attic, heating system etc. which can cause increased levels of humidity inside your house. The best way to deal with increased humidity above recommended levels is to vent out the excess moisture.
If you want to own windows with all these features, please contact Thermal Windows – J & M Glass Company today. Call (214) 630-5885 or (817) 731-8886 to learn more about our aluminum windows. Visit http://www.thermalwindowsdfw.com for more details or fill our online form
